From being the inspiration behind Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan to playing SRK in Junglywood, Deepak Kalra calls it a ‘full-circle moment’
Mumbai: For Deepak Kalra, being a Shah Rukh Khan fan has always been more than just admiration for a superstar. What began as an extraordinary fan journey has, over the years, turned into a series of unexpected connections with the Bollywood icon. From being associated with the inspiration behind the 2016 film Fan to now portraying a character named SRK in the upcoming film Junglywood, Deepak believes that his connection with the superstar is nothing short of destiny.
Deepak’s story also has a special Delhi connection. Both he and Shah Rukh Khan share roots in Rajinder Nagar, making their Dilliwala bond particularly meaningful. Shah Rukh has acknowledged Deepak on several occasions on social media, further adding to what has become a rather unusual and heartwarming fan-superstar association.
Talking about this connection, Deepak says, “I genuinely feel blessed because I believe SRK is written in my stars. I don’t call or message people to make things happen, but somehow, life keeps creating these opportunities for me to meet Shah Rukh sir. From being his fan to being associated with the journey of Fan, and now getting the opportunity to play a character named SRK in Junglywood, it feels like everything has come full circle. I carry a little bit of Shah Rukh with me in whatever I do. He has been an inspiration in more ways than one.”
As Shah Rukh Khan celebrates his birthday, Deepak has a special message for the superstar. “Wishing my King Khan the happiest birthday. I wish him all the love and success for King. Honestly, I am more excited about King than Doomsday! That’s how much I look forward to watching him on screen. For me, he will always be the one and only King.”
For someone whose admiration for Shah Rukh Khan has evolved into a story of unexpected encounters, cinematic connections and now a character named after his idol, Deepak Kalra’s journey is indeed a fan story with a rather filmi twist.
