It was the best time of my life: Anupama Solanki on bringing Ganpati home

Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai actor Anupama Solanki welcomed Ganpati to her home. This was her second time celebrating the festivities, and she said it was the best time of her life.

“This is the second time I have brought Ganesha home for 3 days. It was the best time of my life in Mumbai. I started preparations a month before, and when Ganesh Chaturthi came, I didn’t have a single other thought in my mind,” she said.

She, however, mentioned that before coming to Mumbai, she had never celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi or any of its rituals in her life. “I saw Ganesh Chaturthi for the first time in Mumbai,” she said.

For Anupama, Ganesh Visarjan is both a joyful and emotional moment. She said, “I feel super energetic when Ganesh Chaturthi comes around. Everywhere, the sounds of Dhol and Nagada make me feel like I’ve never seen so much energy in my entire life. But I cry every time I do Visarjan, and honestly, I don’t usually cry in real life because I’m a 'mast bindaas' girl who doesn’t worry too much about the future. And I was shocked because my tears were unstoppable during Visarjan.”

“It means there is some power in this universe that sees everything and tries to connect with you. Some people think it’s psychological, but whatever it is, I love Ganpati Bappa,” she added.

Asked if she has overcome a personal challenge with her faith in Lord Ganesha, she said, “The first time I brought Bappa home, I was extremely busy with shooting, almost 28 days in the month. But as they say, 'Not even a leaf moves without God's will,' and I did my first Ganpati pooja, 'Nirvighna' (without obstacles).”

“I believe the government should strictly ban POP-made Ganeshas because they’re harmful to both devotees and nature. I always use eco-friendly Ganeshas because everyone should show respect both before and after worship,” Anupama ended.
