India's Celebrity PMU Expert Dr. Shagun Gupta Voices Support for Sonam Wangchuk, Says "My Loyalty Is to India, Not Politics"
Mumbai: Renowned celebrity PMU expert, entrepreneur, and social advocate Dr. Shagun Gupta has publicly expressed her support for education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk, joining a growing list of public figures who have spoken in solidarity with his ongoing indefinite hunger strike.
Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following the alleged NEET-UG examination paper leak and other examination irregularities that affected millions of students across the country. Through his peaceful protest, he has called for greater accountability, transparency, and comprehensive reforms in India's examination system to restore students' trust in the education process. His movement has sparked nationwide conversations, with several prominent personalities including Sonakshi Sinha, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anurag Kashyap, Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Atul Kulkarni, and Aditi Rao Hydari extending their support.
Amidst this, Dr. Shagun Gupta has emerged as another public voice choosing to stand for what she describes as "The future of the country and its youth and India is my home. My silence is never for sale. When the future of my nation, the dignity of its people, or the power of education calls, I will stand with courage. My loyalty is to the Constitution of India, to truth, and to my country—not to any political party."
She further added, "I stand with Sonam Wangchuk not because of politics or headlines, but because I believe every peaceful voice raised for education, our environment, and India's future deserves to be heard. My loyalty is to India, its people, and my conscience. India First. Always."
Dr. Shagun Gupta emphasized that her support is driven purely by concern for the nation, its people, and especially the younger generation. According to her, education and opportunities for youth should remain above political differences and deserve collective attention from every responsible citizen.
Known for speaking openly on social and public issues, Dr. Gupta has consistently used her platform beyond her professional achievements. In the past, she publicly condemned controversial remarks made by influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, spoke against the assault on actress Kangana Ranaut, and has actively advocated for employment opportunities and dignity for members of the transgender (Kinnar) community. Through these initiatives, she has established herself as someone who believes in contributing positively to society through dialogue and action.
Reflecting on the role of women in nation-building, Dr. Gupta said that women have always been powerful agents of change. Whether nurturing a family, strengthening communities, or contributing to the country's progress, she believes women possess the courage to break barriers and inspire meaningful transformation. She hopes more citizens, particularly young people, will engage in constructive conversations about education, social responsibility, and India's future while always respecting democratic and peaceful means of expressing their views.
